On January 27, 2018, some of the national core leaders of MRRD NECC (Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte – National Executive Coordinating Committee) visited Lanao del Sur to promote and expound on BBL (Bangsamoro Basic Law) and Phederalism (Philippine Federalism).
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Undersecretary Emily Padilla, Department of Social Welfare and Development Undersecretary Virginia Orogo, Coconut Industry Investment Fund – Oil Mills Group (CIIF – OMG) Director Rehan Balt Lao, and Joecel Luy and Marilou Bridgette Luy were among the esteemed guests.
They talked about President Rodrigo Duterte’s vision for the Philippines, a country free from crime, illegal drugs, corruption, insurgency, and poverty. Aside from these, they explained the basic structures of the Federalism system of government and its advantages over the current one. Also, the attendees listened with rapt attention to the unlikely formation of MRRD NECC. The event ended with the mass pledge of support and allegiance of the members of MRRD NECC.
The symposium would not have been possible without the effort of MRRD NECC ARMM (Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) leaders: Darogoan Amol Mindalano (Madamba, Lanao del Sur), Soraida Amol Mindalano-Sarangani (Madalum, Lanao del Sur), Prof. Lominog M. Lao (Regional Chairman), and BM_Abdulhamid Umpa Amerbitor (2nd District, Lanao del Sur). To all of you, thank you for the warm welcome and the hospitality.
To those who attended the symposium, thank you for coming. I hope it was an enlightening experience for all of you.
Thank you to those who were with us for several days as we travelled around Mindanao. You made the endless hours on the road brief.
On a personal note, I met one of those who commented on my blog. She happened to be the MRRD NECC Municipal Chairman of Marogong, Lanao del Sur. To Maimona Balt-Decampong, it was nice seeing you.
