Over the weekend, I had a girls’ day out with my former classmates in Spanish. Like our normal get-togethers, it was a lunch and dessert-coffee combination.
I decided to write about about the dessert-coffee part first because I thought it would be less complicated for my laptop and would be better for my sanity. It turned out, it was not. Oh well. I digress.
The girls and I went to Pablo in Greenbelt 5, the third Pablo branch in the Philippines, after its shops at Robinsons Manila and Bonifacio High Street. Pablo is a Japanese enterprise that is famous for its classic cheese tarts. However, it also serves its customers cookies, smoothies, hot and iced drinks, and soft served ice creams.
I am not a fan of either cheese or tarts, so it was an uphill battle for Pablo to get my vote. However, I was over the moon that they had a combination of mango smoothie and mini cheese tart chocolate for P250.00 (US $4.82). But that honeymoon period was shortlived. The mango smoothie had enough mangoes for me to taste it, but the tart was too aerated for my taste. The tart’s saving grace was its flaky crust.
