I take the Manila Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 or the purple line almost every day. It traverses Aurora Boulevard and has Recto and Santolan stations as its end points. Since one of its stations is literally a hop and a skip away from where I live, it is fast becoming my favorite mode of transportation. Aside from providing relatively comfortable commute, it is also a display of huge ads in motion. The front and sides of the coaches of LRT Line 2 are vibrant with colors and splashed with ginormous names of well-known and not-so popular brands.
I took the photos that follow while I waited for my train to arrive, so they are mostly taken from the train going to Santolan station.
The LRT Line 2 train without the ads.
An old advertisement paid for by PLDT.
This is a very timely ad by reminder. The hotness of Metro Manila weather makes every Juan sweat like there is no tomorrow. We know that where there is sweat, there is unwelcome body odor that follows.
I am not sure if Rexona is the #1 deo, but it sure makes the side of the LRT Line 2 coaches look peaceful and cool.
Camel also makes its appearance on the sides of LRT Line 2.
Camel appliances as advertised on LRT Line 2.
I am sure that this Bench ad with Daniel Padilla’s face makes many teenagers giddy. Padilla is one of the most popular actors in the Philippines.
American Tourister tells LRT Line 2 riders to be ready when life calls.
I saw this just today. Coke has a new ad on LRT Line 2. The whole line says, “Taste The Feeling”. I walked a few steps back but the whole imperative statement would not fit on the screen, all I got was, “Taste The Feel”.
