The last stop of my most recent trip to Mindanao was Cagayan de Oro City. It was just a five-hour stay, but it was the most relaxing during that five-day sojourn. It meant that it was the last push before I returned to Manila and it also meant I would see my own bed again. However, before seeing my bed, I had to sleep on a bed, any bed. This bed happened to be part of a room in Limketkai Luxe Hotel.

Upon entering the main entrance of Limketkai Luxe Hotel, at past midnight, the most arresting items that got my attention were the chandeliers that lorded over the spacious but rather stark lobby. To the left of the entrance was a grand staircase, which I did not dare take because I was ready to drop down on any surface and snore my way to morning, I was dog tired.

Thankfully, the two people manning the reception area were quite efficient and accommodating (thank you for granting the couple of requests my group had). I was inside the room in matters of minutes and was able to cleanse the dirt I accumulated that day. It was wonderful to discover that each bed had 2.5 pillows! More than two pillows in a hotel room always make me smile.

When I woke up after a short slumber, practically a long nap, I was grateful to find out that they had prepared our breakfast to go, with two huge sandwiches, an apple, and canned Del Monte products or coffee. 🙂

The only non-glowing thing I experienced during my stay at Limketkai Luxe Hotel was the unstable Wi-Fi connection. I called the front desk and they immediately sent up a person (not a technician, there was no technician on duty at 1am) to look at the router and other things, but it did not solve the problem. My mobile internet was faster and more stable than their Wi-Fi.
