Casa Roces Malacañan (Manila) – Sinful Sweets

Early this week, I was in Casa Roces Malacañan for the third time, and had my sixth meal there. Every visit there involved breakfast and lunch. Every meal I had there with one exception was taken with a slice of cake. My favorite so far is the chocolate caramel cake, which I had on my very first visit.

In order to celebrate the impending day of the hearts, I deem it wise to post something sinful and sweet for the naughty and nice in all of us.

Cakes available at Casa Roces Malacañan

Choco Caramel Cake, Cherry Walnut Cheescake, Baked Cheesecake, and Carrot Cake, among others

Limited Caramel Cake and Baked Cheesecake

Cherry Walnut Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, and Devil’s Food Cake

Carrot Cake, P135.00 (US $2.59). I do not particularly like carrot cakes but this one was decent. The frosting was very light, which I liked.

Devil’s Food Cake, P135.00 (US $2.59). OMG. This was too sweet, even for Devil’s Food Cakes standards. ¼ of the cake remained on the plate because I had a sudden sugar rush.

Dulce de Leche, P110.00 (US $2.16). This dark and decadent chocolate cake filled with light coffee custard and finished with not-too-sweet marshmallow icing was underwhelming. It was too bland.

Dulce de Leche Premium, P825.00 (US $15.80)

White Chocolate S’mores

Buttered Caramel Popcorn
