When I Did Not Binge-watch Stranger Things Season 4, Part I Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero

I am adding Argyle (Eduardo Franco) to my favorite Stranger Things characters. I agree with Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman) when he asks, ‘who is he?’ referring to Argyle. He is a stoner, but he waxes poetic and he makes Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) watchable on screen. And, Murray makes risotto? *Surprise Pikachu face.*

Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) are still possible to end up together? Wut? Maybe because Jonathan’s aging process speeds up due to smoking smelly plants? That gives me a whiplash.

Dustin and Steve’s dynamic conversations continue to be some of the highlights of the Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero.

Going back to the story, so, Vecna is quite powerful and it may need Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to sacrifice her life or her happiness at the very least in order to defeat this monster. I hope she does and I hope she finds true happiness and discovers the genuine feeling of belongingness.

Here are some quotes from Stranger Things – Season 4 Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero

“There were no signs of any attacker. No bruises. No signs of any struggle. It’s as if her attacker was a ghost. Does this remind you of anything, Doc?” – Lt. Colonel Sullivan (Sherman Augustus)

“I know this may be, like, upsetting and shit, but that future prom queen is gonna be fine. I mean, it’s just like, rubber wheels.” – Argyle (Eduardo Franco)

“In the grand scheme of things, it’s just a little blip.” – Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton)

“You kids like risotto?” – Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman)

“So do Eskimos, like still live in igloos, or, uh, are they, like, fully-blown like, living in the suburbs now?” – Argyle

“Who is he?” – Murray Bauman

“Okay. I sense tension. Is it the risotto? Everyone hates the risotto?” – Murray Bauman

“This risotto shmackin’, dude.” – Argyle

“Still have no idea who he is.” – Murray Bauman

Robin: Listen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we’ve actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a few times, and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, theirs was more smoke-related, but bottom line is, collectively, I really feel we got this.

Steve: We usually rely on this girl who has super powers. But, uh, those went bye-bye. So …

Robin: So we’re technically in more of the …

Steve: Kinds …

Max: Brainstorming phase.

Steve: Brainstorming.

Dustin: There’s nothing to worry about.

“I am different. I do not belong.” – Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)

“Everyone looks at me like I’m a monster.” – Eleven

Mike: But it doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t matter. I care for you. So much.

Eleven: Care. But you don’t … you don’t love me anymore?

Mike: What … who .. who said that I didn’t?

Eleven: You never say it.

Mike: I say it.

Eleven: You can’t even write it, Mike. ‘From Mike. From Mike. From Mike. From Mike. From.’

Mike: Okay, okay. Eleven, you’re being ridiculous. What is this? You know what I think of you. You’re the most incredible person in the world. And you can’t let these mouth breathers ruin you. Ruin us. I mean, they’re nobodies. They’re nobodies. And you’re a superhero.

Eleven: Not anymore.

“Eleven. Eleven, liste to me. Okay? Eleven, will you please look at me? Everything’s gonna be fine. I am going to fix this. Okay? Just … just stay calm and everything gonna be fine. Okay? Just … All you have to do is trust me. I promise. Okay? I’m gonna get you out. I promise!” – Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard)

“You children, bless their mischievous souls, they like to get involved. This way, what? They play too much Nintendo, eat too much junk food, smoke some ganja, pound some beers, experiment sexually. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?” – Murray Bauman

“Like this is gonna save me if we crash.” – Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder)

“You just gonna stand there and gawk?” – Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo)

“Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter!” – Steve Harrington (Joe Keery)

“So, he’s a grandpa murderer who can turn invisible and lift people into the air.” – Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke)

“I know. I just thought that by “shot in the dark,” you were being modest or hiding something super solid up your sleeve that you were gonna wow us with later. But this is like really, truly a shot in the dark. Like, we are snipers with blindfolds on who’ve been spun around 50 times.” – Robin Buckley

“You don’t know me very well. I don’t really have a filter or a strong grasp of social cues. So if I say something that upsets you, just know that I know it’s a flaw. Believe me, my mother reminds me daily.” – Robin Buckley

“No. I’m not implying. I’m stating. And, as it relates to your steadfast refusal to date Robin, it’s pretty much the only logical explanation.” – Dustin Henderson

“I don’t want to talk about it. I’ll punch you so hard your teeth will fall back out.” – Steve Harrington

“Hawkins is in danger. You have fought this evil before and you’ve won. But this evil, it’s like a virus. Each time it returns, it comes back stronger, smarter, deadlier. A war is coming to Hawkins. There are brave people, good friends who have helped you fight your battle in the past. But they alone can’t win this war, not without you. I know it’s not fair to ask more of you, but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think was the only way, if I didn’t think you were the only one who might have a shot to hit this thing so hard it can’t get back up.” – Sam Owens (Paul Reiser)

“I don’t have my powers.” – Eleven

Sam: What if I told you there was a way, a way to bring them back? I feared this moment would come, so I’ve been preparing, developing the means to restore your abilities. A program has the potential to not just bring them back, but bring them back stronger than before. But there are others who don’t believe in you, who think you are the cause. I believe they’re wrong. I believe you’re the cure. That’s why, if we’re really gonna do this, I’m gonna ask that you leave with me now. But you should know there is a very real possibility this program fails. And if it does, you will never see your friends again.

Eleven: My friends in Hawkins, are they in danger?

Sam: I’m afraid your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of the storm. You may feel you may need to go to them now, but if you do, you will risk everything, risk everyone. They’re not the only ones in danger. It’s life as we know it. This is why I’m here. Because I believe you are our best hope. Our only hope.

Eleven: What if I’m not good? What if I’m the monster?

Sam: I don’t know you that well, kiddo, but I’m betting the fate of the planet that you’re one of the good ones. But you’ve spent most of your life being told what to do by people like me. I know that. So, you say the word and I will take you back home. Or come with me now. Find out for yourself.
