As the series The House of Us comes to an end, the soon-to-be married couple Korics (Daniel Padilla) and Q (Kathryn Bernardo) faces one issue after another.  First, Korics’ grandfather died of Covid-19. They cannot see him nor attend his wake and funeral. They have to content themselves with pouring their hearts out via e-lamay. Berna (Arlene Muhlach) has the best words for it when she says that Covid-19 is so isolating, even saying last goodbyes to loved ones is impossible.  Second, Korics and Q have a serious fight over Q’s lying to him about her application to London Business School. That fight gets so huge that they actually call their wedding off. Third, they realize that they may not be able to betray their intuitions and continue to headbutt after their wedding. 

The House Arrest of Us shows a slice of life of two families living in the same house during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the many trials and tribulations of Korics and Q, they still get their happy ending – they not only survive living with each other and with each other’s families but they come out the other side with an aluminum engagement ring still on Q’s finger.

“We both deserve the best because I love you! But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want you. I just want you, us, to have the best life together. Umpisa pa lang sinuportahan kita sa pangarap mong ‘yan. Pero kapag hindi mag-work, gusto ko may marating tayo.” – Q

“Hindi lahat ng pangarap natutupad, Korics. And you have to accept that. Parte ng buhay ang failure.” – Q

“Alam mo Q, kaya ko namang tanggapin ‘yun eh. Ang hindi ko kayang tanggapin ay ‘yung all this time wala kang tiwala sa akin. Ako ba talaga ang hindi kayang tanggapin ang failure ko? O ikaw?” – Korics

“Pero ikaw lang ang gusto. Nagkamali ako, oo. Hindi ako nagtiwala sa ‘yo, mali ‘yun. But I’m rooting for you. I’m rooting for us. Nag-doubt ako, hindi sa ‘yo, but sa sarili ko. Kasi sabi ko, “What if I can’t make compromises? What if hindi ako handa sa mga dadating pa nating laban after the wedding.” – Q

“Dapat nagtiwala ako na kahit anumang haharapin natin, magkasama tayo. Laban natin pareho ito, Korics. Kung hindi man tayo manalo, I don’t care. What matters is we’re together. Because you’re worth it. We’re worth it.” – Q

“Is this really what you want? Do you want this to be our new normal? ‘Yung wala na tayo sa buhay ng isa’t-isa? Okay. If you take one more step at pumunta ka diyan sa sasakyan, I’ll take that as a yes. I will respect your decision. And I will let you go.” – Q

“Pa, it’s a good plan, right? Bakit hindi niya ‘yun matanggap? Tapos ngayon iiwan niya lang ako ng ganoon? Wala ‘yun sa plano. The plan is to get married and to have a good … no, a great life together. Tapos ngayon iiwan niya ako. Gusto ko lang naman ng magandang buhay kasama siya at ang future family naming, Pa.” – Q (Kathryn Bernardo)
