Sérye Restaurant and Café (Quezon Memorial Circle) – Sweets Edition

The previous entry presents Sérye Restaurant and Café in Quezon Memorial Circle, specifically its wholly Filipino main dishes. This entry puts the spotlight on my favorite part of each meal, desserts. I love desserts so much I forego any form of drinks except water, so I can have more than one dessert at the end of the meal (or sometimes, one in the middle and one at the end). I did the same thing here. I had Sérye’s chocolate cake and ube ice cream. I was ecstatic! To borrow Terri Guillemets’ words, desserts are the fairy tales of the kitchen, a happily-ever-after to supper every meal.

For the main dishes, please read Sérye Restaurant and Café (Quezon Memorial Circle).

Banana Cream Pie, P165.00 (US $3.14)

Macapuno Pandan Cake, P165.00 (US $3.14). This did not appeal to me aesthetically, but it was actually good.

Macapuno Pandan Cake, 6-inch Round, P540.00 (US $10.27)

Mango Cream Pie, P165.00 (US $3.14). A very pretty dessert. As much as I like mangoes, I had to skip this in favor of chocolate cake.

Coco Sugar Apple Pie, Pineapple Pie, and Classic Apple Pie, P165.00 (US $3.14) each

Sérye Chocolate Cake, P165.00 (US $3.14). This is my favorite dessert for the last 15 days. I have it twice, and it was great the first time and twice as wonderful the second time. I recommended it to my companions, but they found it too decadent. For me, it was perfect in every way – sweet with just a hint of bitterness, with chocolate on the outside and caramel on the inside.

Sérye Chocolate Cake, 6-inch Round, P540.00 (US $10.27).
