For several years, Cubao Expo, as well as its other aliases Marikina Shoe Expo and Cubao X, has been home to restaurants, galleries, kitschy shops, and of course, shoe shops. While the mad rush of people and provincial buses in Araneta Center create a dizzying scene, the U-shaped and colorful world of Cubao Expo seems untouched by all the hustle and bustle. One can get lost in the serenity of the place, among vintage comics and knick-knacks and one-of-a-kind pieces, and forget the unbearable heat and the honking of jeepneys, just for a moment.
Bellini’s Ristorante Italiano Cubao Expo. Bellini’s has been here for the longest time, since I was in college. The owner and his wife have a great love story. 🙂
Some of the Filipino movie posters that my grandparents watched: Dolphy in Dressed to Kill and Tony Ferrer in Sabotage
Posters of Mga Saragate with Rey Taylo, Bentot, Cachupoy, Martin Marfil and Eddie Mesa and Sa Manlulupig di ka Pasisiil, a picture dedicated to every Filipino living or dead.
Located at the bottom left of the display window is a photo of some of the most popular loveteams in Philippine movie industry. I know only four actors out of 8.
Address of Cubao Expo: General Romulo Street, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City. It is a short walk from Ali Mall. Most shops open after lunch or later.
Hi, the frames of the old movies are for sale at Grand Thrift Shop.
Thank you for the information, Aida. 🙂 Your help is much appreciated.
Good Evening!
I was wondering, would you happen to remember the name of the store with all the old posters? Also, are they selling them?
Thank you!
P.S Your blog is amazing by the way. It has a lot of good insights.
Hi, Angelica!
Thank you for the positive feedback. About the posters, I am not sure if the store sells them but as fas as I know, the store is more about the frames rather than the poster. I looked at my file photos, including the unpublished ones, unfortunately, I do not have a photo of the name of the store. I will email you once I know the name of the store and if they sell the posters. I live one train ride away from Cubao Expo. 🙂
