Bugis Singapore Street Food (San Juan City)

Bugis Singapore Street Food is named after Bugis Street, which is known for its “maze of fashionable malls, affordable food shops, and festive nightlife”. Bugis Singapore Street Food opened its branch in San Juan City in February 2018 to offer affordable meals that are generous in flavor and made from quality ingredients. Bugis Singapore Street Food has homey ambiance that is inviting and the lunch crowd is not rowdy. I have to commend the friendly staff, too.

Nasi Goreng, P125.00 (US $2.32). Sweet and spicy stir-fry rice with minced pork, shrimp, vegetables and shredded omelette. This was a meal in itself. It had generous serving of pork and shrimps. The sweet and spicy combination is something I do not particularly care for normally, but the balance of flavors in this meal was yum!

Chicken Chops, P135.00 (US $2.50). The chicken chops were not as thin as they normally go and they had real flesh in them. They were tender albeit lack flavor. The gravy did not add anything to the taste of the chicken.

Chicken Curry, P225.00 (US $4.17). I love coconut milk and this one further highlighted the reason why coconut milk should be in every meal – it just makes everything better! The chicken was buttery soft and soaked up some of that curry goodness. Imaginary taps of spoon on the wooden table!
