This and That: Life in the Time of Coronavirus

Luzon has been under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for 36 days.

First week was devoted mostly to doing inventory of supply of food and hygienic products, cleaning, washing, and disinfecting anything that needed cleaning, washing, and disinfecting. To reward myself after a hard morning’s work, I binge-watched series and movies on Netflix.

Second week saw more cleaning, washing, and disinfecting, working from home, and writing posts for this blog. Shelves and closets were turned upside down, cleaned and rearranged. Exercising started to be a little intense and I sweat like pig. Binge-watching of La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) commenced.

Third week involved continued cleaning, washing, and disinfecting, replenishing food supplies and tissue rolls (I had runny nose). Binge-watching of La Casa de Papel reached a state of frenzy. Exercising became daily. It is two parts: walking in our tiny condominium unit and following a 32-minute video. My glutes were on fire, my fat cried, and my legs and thighs wanted to weep for every reverse lunge they took.

Fourth week reached a new level of normalcy. Fifth week is the plateauing of activities. The only thing that was accelerating was the exercising part. Although I still sweated like someone sprayed water on my face, my torso and lower body felt so much better and I felt so much lighter. It has to be mentioned that fifth week a period of anticipation. Michael Jordan and the Bulls’ documentary The Last Dance dropped on Netflix!

As mentioned in my previous posts, all the weeks except week four included at least three hours of Spanish class. Spanish class is the dessert of my quarantine life, to be consumed only at the end of each week (let us just say that Saturday is the end of the week. Hehe.)

In the second week, my partners and I attended a webinar conducted by our international partner. That two-hour long webinar in Zoom was an interesting experience because half the time, some of the attendees wrote in the chat room, “why is this in English? How about the non-English speakers?” in at least three different languages. So, what are webinars. Webinars are web-based seminars, and in the time of coronavirus, they are slowly becoming part of my life in enhanced quarantine.

TR under Luzon enhanced community quarantine

Earlier today, I attended the third business-related webinar I have signed up for. This one is for a local franchise matching platform in the country. I enjoyed it and gained new insights. The four speakers were informative and their presentations were concise yet complete. They offer decent products at decent initial outlay with fairly good return on investment (ROI). I may attend their other scheduled webinars.

I have lined up at least three free webinars for the remainder of week six of ECQ: an investment seminar, a digital transformation webinar, and a webinar to grow your sales. These are the things that I know little or nothing about. But hey, that is exciting! It is exhilarating to learn something new and add it to your arsenal of skills. And the best thing is, it is FREE! Yey!

For this week, I have to give TR another photo shoot for a project that will make her into a supernova, cook pasta, and prepare a dessert (we have all the ingredients!).

I hope your quarantine life is going well.

Stay home. Stay safe. Save lives.
