Mary Grace Café

Mary Grace Café is known as the place to be for goodness of home deliciousness. Mary Grace Café offers fresh from the oven pastries like its famous ensaymada and dreamy cheese rolls and soulful meals from salads to pizzas.

On my birthday, a friend sent me a special meal from Mary Grace Café, and it was delivered right to my doorsteps. I was touched with the thoughtfulness and I enjoyed every spoonful of the food sent to me.

My friend sent me three items: fried kesong puti and calamansi vinaigrette salad, pasta amatriciana with Italian meatballs, and a whole Mary Grace Cheesecake.

The fried kesong puti and calamansi vinaigrette salad has breaded nuggets of kesong puti on lettuce and tomatoes. The salad is vibrant and the calamansi vinaigrette that emanates from the container is quite fragrant. The vinaigrette is a palate cleanser and a wonderful way to start a meal. The tomato wedges and the lettuce are so fresh and have retained their crisp and crunch. The kesong puti nuggets are tasty and creamy. The salad looks light but the kesong puti nuggets give it a little weight that it is satisfying. One solo order of Mary Grace Café’s fried kesong puti and calamansi vinaigrette salad costs P374.00 (US $7.62).

The pasta amatriciana with Italian meatballs has spaghetti noodles tossed with tomato sauce and flavored with bacon and chili. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the sauce is flavorful. The four meatballs that sit on top of the noodles are seasoned well. The melted cheese and herbs that finish the pasta dish add yet another layer of depth to it. One solo order of Mary Grace Café’s pasta amatriciana with Italian meatballs is P398.00 (US $8.10).

A birthday is sweeter with a cake. And some of the sweetest and most beautiful cakes I have had are from Mary Grace Café (from Chocolate Truffle to Strawberry Shortcake). My friend sent me a Mary Grace Cheesecake. It is a silky smooth cream cheese atop a classic graham cracker crust. If there is one word to describe it, it would use clean. There is nothing in it that should not be in there. Every element is meaningful and the cheesecake is balanced. The Mary Grace Cheesecake can be stored in the freezer for nine (9) days, but it remains edible even after that. The cake comes with a complimentary candle: a choice between a sky blue candle and a blush pink candle. I received one with TR’s favorite color. A whole 8 inch by 2.5 inch Mary Grace cheesecake is P1,302.00 (US $26.51). It is also available in a mini size of 4 inch by 2.5 inch for P497.00 (US $10.12).
