It has been almost a year since had cream horn - the creamy concoction wrapped with flaky pastry – which is the bomb diggity. The last time this sweet and heavenly dessert touched my lips was when I bullied Juan to bring a box of cream horn back from Iloilo. He did, bless his heart, and I am forever grateful. But a girl can survive only for so long without her dose of sugary sustenance.
When I had the chance to spend some days in Iloilo, my brain automatically listed Margec’s Cream Horn as the number one dessert I had to buy, eat, and bring back as pasalubong. With the help of my cousin, I succeeded in procuring one big box and two small boxes of Margec’s Cream Horn. It was a total of 120 pieces of cream horn. I will let that sink. 120 pieces. Before you raise your eyebrow, let me tell you that I did not eat all of them (I could not even if I wanted to. It was too much sugar!). What I did was better; I shared them with loved ones and friends. 🙂 And they all loved it. I relished on watching the delight on their faces when they opened the box and the gratifying “hmmmm” they uttered when the creamy filling of the cream horn hit their tongue.
The funniest reaction someone said when the person saw the content of the box was, “I cannot eat it! I do not eat vegetables!” She thought it was hopia. It was so cute.
