Instituto Cervantes Manila’s PELÍCULA 2015 (NCCA Building, Intramuros)

From October 19 to 25, 2015, Instituto Cervantes Manila’s PELÍCULA Manila Spanish Film Festival will continue its homage to Spanish Cinema at the NCCA Building (National Commission for Culture and the Arts), Intramuros. El Cine Español en 20 Carteles (Spanish Cinema in 20 Posters) is a virtual journey to the heart of Spanish Cinema through the posters of some of the most unforgettable films. The films include Luis García Berlanga’s 1953 Bienvenido, Míster Marshall (Welcome, Mr. Marshall!) and Pablo Berger’s 2012 Blancanieves (Snow White).

The film screenings at NCCA will include six movies called Iconos del Cine Español (Iconic Films of Spanish Cinema) due to their impact on the history of Spanish Cinema. These include:

Muerte de un Ciclista (Age of Infidelity) directed by Juan Antonio Bardem, 1955

Viridiana directed by Luis Buñuel, 1961

Cría Cuervos (Raising Ravens) directed by Carlos Saura, 1976

La Colmena (The Beehive) directed by Mario Camus, 1982

Blancanieves (Snow White) directed by Pablo Berger, 2012

Colombian Cinema, one of the most active in Latin America, is also well-represented with three films.

The 2015 edition of PELÍCULA will have screnings in Zamboanga, Baguio, my beautiful province of Iloilo, and Davao.
