High Street Café at Shangri-La at the Fort Breakfast Buffet (Taguig City) - Christmas Edition

Malipayon nga Paskwa sa Tanan! (Ilonggo for Merry Christmas to all!)

High Street Café has made at least a couple of appearances on this blog. High Street Café is one of the nine dining establishments in Shangri-La at the Fort, but it is the only one that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets from Monday to Sunday. Its tagline proudly says, “Nine Culinary Neighborhoods, One High Street”. These “nine culinary neighbohoods” are Western, Pan-Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Mediterranean and rotisserie dishes, seafood bar, salad bar, and the dessert station.

Aside from the innumerable choices, High Street Café is a happy place. The staff has always been attentive to the needs of its diners and it carries out the requests of the guests with cheerful smiles on their faces. My friends and I have celebrated birthdays and other momentous events in the restaurant. For every birthday that we have celebrated there, there is always a birthday song that follows – whether by a group or by a duo. This gesture has made the celebrant feel a little more special as she (we are all women) turns a year wiser.

This year, we decided to celebrate our intimate Christmas breakfast at High Street Café because of the service and their desserts.

I will make this entry short because we will start our Christmas Eve celebration soon.

I just want to say that High Street Café is beautiful during the holidays. The lobby of the hotel is transformed to look like the North Pole wonderland. The recently opened Bake Shop has its own Christmas decors. Of course, High Street Café has Christmas ornaments that accentuate every section of the place. Moreover, it has a mascot (Benny the Bull?) in Santa Claus costume to entertain the guests.

The following are photos taken at High Street Café at Shangri-La at the Fort on December 22, 2019:

High Street Café’s altar of desserts. This is my favorite section of the restaurant.
I had champorado because my very private friend requested me to try it. It was nice but it could be a little chocolatier. Hehe. I have to point out that I had 1.5 mugs of their chocolate drink before I had the champorado. Their chocolate drink is just love. I have had at least one mug in our last three visits.
I did not eat a lot that day. For my first plate, I chose two spicy potato balls, spicy chicken, mini-pizza, egg tart, and a slice of ham for that festive element. My favorite was the egg tart.
For my second plate I had Danish pastry with glazed strawberry and floss. This floss is also a constant presence on my plate.
My bowl of ice cream: strawberry, lychee, blueberry, and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is my absolute favorite.

I could not resist having a photo with the bears.
