Four Sisters and a Wedding – Hugot Edition (From The Words of the Four Sisters)

Star Cinema’s Four Sisters and a Wedding is a drama-comedy (dramedy) film directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina. As the title says, it puts a spotlight on four sisters, Teddie (Toni Gonzaga), Bobbie (Bea Alonzo), Alex (Angel Locsin), and Gabbie (Shaina Magdayao) and how they plan to stop the wedding of their only brother, CJ (Enchong Dee).

Given that many women in the film, drama is bound to happen, and it does, in bountiful quantity and quality. There is love drama between Bobbie and Alex as they find themselves in a love triangle with Chad (Bernard Palanca). There is insecurity and favoritism drama between Teddie and Bobbie, with Teddie the insecure one but also the family favorite. There are misadventures especially the ones started or finished by Alex or Teddie. Chaos and comedy ensue as the four sisters try their darndest to sabotage the wedding preparations of CJ and fiancée Princess (Angeline Quinto). But there are also poignant moments where Gabbie displays her maternal instinct despite being the youngest among the sisters. Since this is a movie about a family, one cannot forget the matriarch, Grace (Connie Reyes) as she patiently guides all her children to carve their own paths and find fulfillment in their lives.

The highlight of Four Sisters and a Wedding is Jeanette (Carmi Martin), the mother of Princess. Her flamboyant persona, from the way she pronounces words to the clothes and accessories she wears, is a standout. She steals every scene she is in. She is flawless like the shining, shimmering, splendid lady that is descended from a long line of beauty queens.
