Connie’s Kitchen Deli along Broadway Avenue, Quezon City is one of my happy places within the five-kilometer radius of my residence. First, it supports local businesses by selling products made small and medium entrepreneurs from all over the Philippines. Second, it sells artisan items that are hard to come by in groceries. Third, its shelves teem with natural products with less or no chemicals and preservatives. Last, it is manned by the most cheerful and accommodating set of salespeople.
I would like to claim that I scoured all the shops in the noble cities of Quezon and San Juan for Christmas gifts for family and friends, but I would be lying. Hehe. Due to lack of time and energy, most of the gifts I will give this Christmas came from small businesses that frequent the weekend markets, cute shops that carry one-of-a-kind (or few of a kind) items, and shops that sell Philippine-themed non-consumables. For a handful of people who did not make it to the first, second, and third batches of gift shopping, I bought edible goodies from Connie’s Kitchen.
The timing of my visit was perfect because it was opportune moment that the store rolled out some of its Christmas gift packs.
