Pasarela de Moda is one of the highlights of Caritas Manila´s Buy and Give Expo 2 that was held at Glorietta 4 Activity Center from November 28 to 30, 2014. The fashion show was a beautiful marriage between the vibrant spring/summer/resort collection of international designer PJ Arañador and the intricate merchandise of Caritas Margins. For about an hour, colorful and refreshing fabrics artfully cut to celebrate tropical living paraded before our eyes. The clothes look very lightweight and comfortable. They are adeptly complemented by accessories that were made by Caritas Margins’ partners. I could almost feel the sun caressing my face, fine powdery sand touching my toes and a glass of buko (coconut) juice in my hand as I listen to waves gently crushing into the shore while looking at the models make their way down the runway in the middle of the concrete jungle called Makati City.
PJ Arañador is a designer with a social conscience and likes to give back to the community. He owns Wawa Restaurant in Iloilo and Nautilus in Boracay, a souvenir shop that sells items made by indigenous people.
