Online Shopping – November Edition

I am not a big online shopper. Far from it. However, when I start browsing, my cart goes from zero to hero real fast. The good thing is they just remain in the cart. I read an article that says that it is okay to add the items to cart but let them sit there for a few hours or days while I ponder about importance and/or urgency of the purchase. More often than not, I realize that I do not need that item or I do not need it now

September was a flurry of add-to-cart activities, mostly because I was emotional. Hahaha. I still have some of the consumables sitting in the cupboard two and a half months after I paid for them. So I learned my lesson and took a self-imposed 45-day hiatus from online shopping for two reasons, 1) to be able to allocate some resources for a new project, and 2) I do not need the items anyway. That hiatus ended a couple of weeks ago, and since then I have purchased a facial cleaning brush and a face massager, a smart vacuum cleaner, a chocolate fondue, two mineral face powder, and three bodycon dresses. I am quite satisfied with the things that I have ordered so far (the mineral powder have not arrived yet), but I know I can survive without them (okay, the smart vacuum cleaner is a wise buy).

I use the facial cleaning brush regularly, the smart vacuum cleaner everyday, and the chocolate fondue has been mixed with the pancake batter to turn regular pancakes into chocolate-flavored ones. I have not used the face massager and the dresses yet. Since I lack materials for posting, hahaha, I am going to show the dresses that I bought for dirt-cheap price.

Each bodycon dress costs P49.24 (US $1.020 after all the discounts and with the shipping fee, I paid a total of P189.72 (US $3.94) for three! I plan to wear them under some of my dresses so I politely requested the online seller for the colors that will go well with the dresses I have: black, nude, and pink. Okay, the pink one is TR’s choice.

I have a cap for online shopping for electronics and gadgets so I will not feel terrible if the product turns out to be a dud and there is no warranty and such. I apply the same thing to clothes since I cannot see, touch, or try them on. All I have as bases for buying are the reviews of the other buyers. The dresses are made of cotton spandex so they stretch to a certain degree and fortunately the fit me well. The nude one is the tightest of the three but the pink and black one are comfortable. All of them are light and not hot when worn.

This December, I made a promise not to buy something for myself online. I hope I get to do it.

Here are the photos of the dresses that TR and I chose.

The black one looks deformed. Hahaha.
The pink one is TR’s choice and her favorite.

Exchange Rate: US $1.00 = P48.12
