Dakak Park and Beach Resort (Dapitan City)

Dakak Beach Resort in Dapitan City is what one imagines a paradise would be like. It is nestled between the verdant mountains and the teal waters, which affords the guests 100% immersion in Mother Nature’s bosoms. Yet, do not let the location of Dakak Beach Resort fool you into thinking that it is wanting for any conveniences. Dakak Beach Resort is a luxury resort that offers an endless of facilities and services that rival those offered in big cities.

According to its website, it has 64 duplex bungalows with 160 accommodations that are made with bamboo and capiz-shell windowpanes that are furnished with airconditioner, Jacuzzi, private bath and shower, phones, large television sets, hair dryer, mini-bar and fridge, and safe, among other things.

Aside from the accommodations, Dakak Beach Resort has nine dining venues, including a 24-hour café. Guests will not get bored with the opportunities for relaxation that are available onsite: three (3) tennis courts, adult pool with adjoining Jacuzzi, children’s pool with waterfalls, billiards and bowling alley, golf course (it is an 18-hole golf course! I know!), horseback riding, all-terrain vehicle, the Philippines’ longest dual zipline, rock climbing, wakeboarding, war game (Airsoft), rappelling, cove hopping, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, banana boat, Hobie cat, jetski, river cruise, and sunset cruise. Themed tours, parties, and helicopter tour packages are also available. Laundry and babysitting services, on-call doctor, and 24-hour massage services are also offered.

When I talked to one of the owners, she told me that have everything but an airplane. What she said is true!

Dakak Beach Resort is a 30-minute drive from Dipolog City and Dipolog Airport. It offers free transport from and to Dipolog City and Dipolog Airport.

Three things that I have to mention of my less-than-18-hour stay at Dakak Beach Resort:

  1. The staff are efficient, friendly, and honest. One of the owners related that their staff never steal anything. Guests’ things stay where they leave them.
  2. When I went out to the terrace at around 9pm, all I heard were the waves and the insects. I was transported to a different world and to a different period. It was heavenly.
  3. I wanted to try the zipline. Alas, it was not meant to be because we had to pack up and leave the cocoon of fantasy and go to the airport, just to find out that our flight was delayed again by two hours.

Thank you to the Jalosjos family for making our stay in Dakak Beach Resort memorable.

This bed dominates the room. Three people can comfortable sleep in it.

Single and three-seater sofas, which are both comfortable. The curtains cover glass windows that have views of the sea and the garden.

The television and the writing desk beside it

The sink and vanity. When I entered this toilet and shower area, I was floored. It is almost as big as my entire unit in Quezon City. The door to the left leads to the bedroom while the door to the right leads to a garden and, ultimately, to the road.

Toiletries near the sink

This hairdryer made me officially fall in love with this room (I did not use it, but the fact that it was an option was just lovelovelove).

The shower area at night. Fifteen people can stand in the stall with wiggle room to boot.

The shower area with the sun shining

I bring my own toiletries when I travel, but the smell of honey made me use the shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel. In that order.

The toilet. I adore the touch of real greenery right in front of the toilet. There is nothing more entertaining than sitting on a throne and actively participating in photosynthesis at the same time. The curtains cover glass windows that give the view of the road and of the neighboring casita.

Aside from hairdryer, a flat iron in a hotel room makes my heart skip a little faster. The flat iron did not make it to the photo, but there was one. Hallelujah!

This fridge was fully stocked when we arrived. I got two bottles of mineral water. the mini-bar in the shelf beneath the fridge remained at 100% capacity.

Chairs and table outside

Lounge chairs perfectly situated to stare at the water, the white sand shore across, the mountains, and the sky.

How divine is the location of this Jacuzzi?

The Japanese restaurant whose name I forgot. We had dinner here.

I felt like a grown up. Hehe.

TR in the Jacuzzi at night. She was having an existential crisis – to use or not to use the Jacuzzi and to drink or not to drink the wine. She did neither.

Our complimentary breakfast was delivered at 330am, so we could make it to our 710am flight (which was moved to 1110am and was moved to after 1pm). The plate with sweets had four the night before. I had eaten two of them before I went to bed. 🙂 Nom. Nom.

More water can turn a frown into a smile in a downcast morning. The captions of these photos are cheesy. Please bear with me.
