1st Philippine Visit of the Pilgrim Relics of Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin

On February 9, 2017, the pilgrim relics of Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, the parents of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, made their stopover at Carmel of St. Therese along Gilmore Avenue, Quezon City. The liturgy in honor of Saints Louis and Zélie Martin was attended by many, both members of the Church and laymen. There was a public veneration before and after the 630am mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Aris Sison and his concelebrants.

The holy remains of two saints came all the way from France and have been going around the Philippines since January 2, 2017, starting from Mindanao, up north in Visayas and to Luzon.

On October 18, 2015, Saints Louis and Zélie Martin were canonized as saints by Pope Francis, the first spouses in the church’s history to be declared as saints as a couple.
