12th International Silent Film Festival Manila

From August 30 to September 2, 2018, film fanatics will be able to savor the beauty of eight silent films in the highly-awaited 12th International Silent Film Festival Manila (ISFFM).

Bereft of sound but brimming with feature films accompanied by live musical performances, the International Silent Film Festival Manila, the first of its kind in Asia, was established in 2007. Its main purpose is to bring to Manila audiences the unique experience of watching silent classics from the early decades of the 20th century accompanied by Filipino musicians playing live scores.

This year’s edition of the ISFFM includes films from Italy, Philippines, France, Germany, Japan, USA, Spain, and Austria. All eight countries will field the best example of their silent film genre and will have a speaker to welcome the viewers and talk about their entry or special feature.

For its 2018 showing, ISFFM found a new home at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. An exhibit at the SM Cinema lobby will feature visual installations of the eight participating films.

All screenings will be open to the public and admission is FREE!
