Seven Sundays – Hugot Edition

Star Cinema’s Seven Sundays is one of the more enjoyable Filipino films I have watched in 2017. It focuses on Filipino family, the relationship between parent and child and between or among siblings, with equal doses of drama and comedy.

Seven Sundays is almost perfect: solid albeit a little unoriginal story, central theme that every normal and sane Filipino can relate to, superb acting from the cast, characters that walang tapon, where each one has a highlight scene, and blast from the past sentimental musical scoring.

Seven Sundays features Ronaldo Valdez as the ageing Bonifacio patriarch, Aga Muhlach as Allan, Dingdong Dantes as Bryan, Cristine Reyes as Cha, and Enrique Gil as Dexter, collectively, the children are known as ABCD. It is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
