On May 30, 2015, Fringe Benefits Production (FBP), in partnership with Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music (AILM) – Sambalikhaan, presented A Talkback of the Classics – Sophocles’ Antigone and National Artist for Theater and Literature Rolando Tinio’s May Katwiran ang Katwiran. A Talkback of the Classics was the culmination of FBP’s summer class and was directed by theater director and veteran actress Aurora Yumul.

The national anthem and opening prayer were led by Jaymie Mascardo, Soprano of St. Joseph Parish Chorale.
Valerie Vibar as Antigone in FBP’s A Talkback of the Classics.
Valerie Vibar as Antigone as she wept and lobbied for a respectable burial for her brother Polynices.
FBP’s Valerie Vibar as Antigone got entangled with the hanging plastic flowers, but she continued with the show with aplomb.
FBP’s Philip Panganiban as Tiresias.
FBP’s Philip Panganiban as Tiresias, all in profile. I like his portrayal of Tiresias. His voice and gait were similar to that of an old man, but he was able to project the former as loud as he could for the benefit of the audience.
Tiresias glanced at the dead body of Antigone.
May Katwiran ang Katwiran
Philip Panganiban as the narrator who sang and rapped for the audience.
FBP’s Daniel Deopante as Kasama in Rolando Tinio’s May Katwiran ang Katwiran. In a counterclockwise direction starting from top left photo: wash hands in running water, scoop running water, drink it and sneeze and shoot snot out in the same running water. Very Pinoy – very true, at least in my province.
The kasama praying. In the brief time I watched him on stage, he seemed self-confident and believable.
